Football Game Preview: Pearl Pirates vs. Meridian Wildcats + Official Tickets

Pearl is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. After each having a week off, they and the Meridian Wildcats will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. Pearl has given up an average of 26 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Pearl's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Germantown last Friday. They had to suffer through a 55-0 loss at the hands of the Mavericks. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Meridian took on Hattiesburg last Friday. The Wildcats came up short against the Tigers, falling 42-16.

Pearl's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Meridian, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Pearl strolled past Meridian in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a score of 35-19. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
