Volleyball Preview: Skyridge Falcons vs. American Fork Cavemen
The Skyridge Falcons will challenge the American Fork Cavemen at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Skyridge and three for American Fork.
Last Tuesday, Skyridge didn't have quite enough to beat Westlake and fell 3-2. While the Falcons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Thunder 25-16 in the first set.
Skyridge actually scored more points across those five sets (114-106), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 19-25, 29-27, 27-25, 15-12.
Meanwhile, American Fork faced Lehi in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Cavemen came up short against the Pioneers, falling 3-0.
The final score came out to 25-23, 25-16, 25-22.
Skyridge will have to contain Evan Olmstead as he made an impact in American Fork's last game. He had ten digs and one assist. Olmstead is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last 11 games he's played.
American Fork's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Skyridge, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
