Baseball Game Preview: Libertyville Wildcats vs. Warren Township Blue Devils

The Libertyville Wildcats will face off against the Warren Township Blue Devils at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Libertyville 1.7, Warren Township 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Libertyville is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Hersey just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 7-3 to the Huskies.

Quinn Schambow was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Lockwood, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Warren Township won against Lake Forest Academy on Thursday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Blue Devils blew past Elk Grove 13-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Libertyville's loss dropped their record down to 27-4. As for Warren Township, their victory bumped their record up to 18-12.

Libertyville came out on top in a nail-biter against Warren Township in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 7-6. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
