Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Leanissa Swinton and Leah Spears Lead Wilson to Victory

Wilson lost to Darlington last Saturday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Wilson Tigers took down the Darlington Falcons 48-32. The Tigers pushed the score to 44-24 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons cut but never quite recovered from.

Wilson was led to victory by Leah Spears and LeaNISSA Swinton. Spears went 7-for-9 to rack up 15 points along with six steals and five rebounds, while Swinton posted eight points in addition to 12 boards and five steals. Swinton has become a key player for Wilson: the team is 16-4 when she posts at least eight boards, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Miller, who had 12 points and four steals.

Wilson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Wilson's victory bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Darlington, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-9.

As of now, neither Wilson nor Darlington have any future games scheduled.
