Basketball Recap: Roane County Makes It 11 in a Row at Home

Roane County extended their home winning streak to 11 games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Aaron Layne. The Roane County Yellowjackets put the hurt on the McMinn Central Chargers with a sharp 85-64 win on Saturday thanks in part to Layne, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards. The match was his fourth in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Warren Brown, who posted 16 points and seven rebounds. Those 16 points gave him a new career-high.

Roane County is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. As for McMinn Central, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Roane County has already played their next contest, an 81-35 victory against Oliver Springs on the 21st. As for McMinn Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 61-53 win against William Blount on the 21st.
