Softball Recap: Olympic Beats Ephrata for Their Seventh Straight Victory

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Olympic walked away with it. They blew past the Ephrata Tigers 12-4 on Friday. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by six runs or more this season.

Brenda Morrison made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off ten hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

In other batting news, Olympic got a massive performance out of Bella Crowell, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was Crowell's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Paige Gordon, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Olympic lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The victory (which was Olympic's seventh in a row) raised their record to 20-3. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 6.3 runs. As for Ephrata, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-8.

As of now, neither Olympic nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
