Softball Recap: West Columbus Vikings vs. East Bladen Eagles

West Columbus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 18-3 to the East Bladen Eagles, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The result was an unpleasant reminder to West Columbus of the 26-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2021.

West Columbus saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Layla King, who went 1-for-2 with a triple and an RBI. Another player making a difference was Isabella Evans, who went 1-for-1 with a triple and an RBI.

West Columbus will be playing in front of their home fans against East Bladen at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. East Bladen is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season. As for they, they will head out on the road to take on West Brunswick at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. East Bladen is facing West Brunswick at the right time seeing as West Brunswick is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
