Basketball Game Preview: Roosevelt Eagles vs. Friona Chieftans

The Roosevelt Eagles will face off against the Friona Chieftans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Roosevelt's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Friona has been banged up by 11 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 57-26, which was the final score in Roosevelt's tilt against Littlefield on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Friona can finally bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They secured a 49-43 W over Muleshoe.

Roosevelt now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Friona, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-15.

Everything came up roses for Roosevelt against Friona in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, as the squad secured an 81-28 win. Will Roosevelt repeat their success, or does Friona have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
