Soccer Recap: San Mateo Takes a Loss

San Mateo managed to keep up with El Camino until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The San Mateo Bearcats lost 5-1 to the El Camino Colts. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 476th, while the Colts are ranked 174th).

San Mateo is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. As for El Camino, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Mateo will welcome Saratoga at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for El Camino, they will look to defend their home pitch on December 20th against Summit Shasta at 4:30 p.m.
