Softball Game Preview: Hopewell Vikings vs. Beaver Falls Tigers

The Hopewell Vikings are taking a road trip to face off against the Beaver Falls Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hopewell lost 11-5 to Avonworth on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Vikings have lost by exactly six runs.

Victoria Mann made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Meanwhile, Beaver Falls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Quaker Valley, falling 19-7. On the bright side, the seven- run effort marked the Tigers' highest-scoring game to date.

Beaver Falls' loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hopewell, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

Hopewell took their win against Beaver Falls in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 18-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
