Softball Recap: Six Straight Road Wins for Kingman/Norwich

Kingman/Norwich had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Medicine Lodge Indians by a score of 9-4 on Thursday.

Caylor Helm spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Addyson Belt, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Parker Beam was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Kingman/Norwich kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Kingman/Norwich's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Medicine Lodge, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Indians beat Kingman/Norwich by a score of 8-7 later that day.
