Basketball Game Preview: Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs vs. Ridgeview Mustangs

The Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs will head out to square off against the Ridgeview Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Deer Creek-Mackinaw has seven straight victories, Ridgeview has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Friday, Deer Creek-Mackinaw didn't have too much trouble with Havana as they won 60-44.

Meanwhile, Ridgeview was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 44-39 to Fisher. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bunnies 14-7 in the first quarter.

Deer Creek-Mackinaw pushed their record up to 25-3 with the win, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. As for Ridgeview, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-21.

Everything came up roses for Deer Creek-Mackinaw against Ridgeview when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 55-17 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Deer Creek-Mackinaw since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
