Baseball Game Preview: Santiam Wolverines vs. Central Linn Cobras

For the second straight game, Santiam will face off against Central Linn. The Wolverines will head out to square off against the Cobras at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.

Santiam barely beat Central Linn the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolverines blew past the Cobras 12-6 on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wolverines as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

For Central Linn's part, they got a good showing from Beau Snyder, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those zero earned runs gave Snyder a new career-low.

At the plate, Daine Offutt and Cam Offutt did some serious damage despite the final result: Daine went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run, while Cam went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two RBI. Daine has become a key player for Central Linn: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Chance Kallai, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Central Linn's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Santiam, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 3-9.
