Basketball Recap: Bell Falls Short of Lake Ridge in the Playoffs

Bell and Lake Ridge squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Bell had to settle for second. The game between them and the Lake Ridge Eagles didn't end well, with the Bell Blue Raiders falling 65-48. While losing is never fun, the Blue Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while the Eagles are ranked third).

Lake Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shaqir Pack, who went 7-for-17 to rack up 16 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Eze Nwakamma was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Bell and nudges their season record down to 21-13. As for Lake Ridge, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 33-2.

Bell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lake Ridge, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Eagles take on the Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Lake Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 matchups -- so hopefully Eastlake likes a good challenge.
