Basketball Recap: Sheridan Takes a Loss

Sheridan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Alameda Pirates, falling 48-23. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 65-24 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2017.

Alameda found their leader in sophomore Lilliana Casias, who went 10 of 23 on her way to 21 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Casias has scored all season. Minerva Santos was another key player, as she made all 5 shots she took to post 10 points.

Sheridan's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Alameda, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Sheridan will square off against Arvada at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Alameda has already played their next game, a 44-36 victory against Lake County on the 28th.
