The Springville Red Devils will venture away from home to face off against the Crimson Cliffs Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Springville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.8 runs per game this season.
Springville took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over Timpview. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Thunderbirds recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Jaz Ciliezar was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Kalia Sjoberg was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Springville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Timpview only posted an OBP of .278.
Meanwhile, Crimson Cliffs was able to grind out a solid victory over Enterprise on Saturday, taking the game 8-5.
The team relied heavily on Aviana Park, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Nyah Snyder, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Springville's record is now 3-1. As for Crimson Cliffs, their record now sits at 7-4.
Springville got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March of 2024 against Crimson Cliffs by a conclusive 9-1 score. Do the Red Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
