Basketball Recap: Pine Island Takes a Loss

Pine Island was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 67-48 to the Byron Bears. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Bears are ranked 21st).

Pine Island's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Byron, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.

Pine Island will take on Lourdes at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Byron has already played their next matchup (against Northfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
