Basketball Recap: Althoff Catholic Takes a Loss

Althoff Catholic lost against Triad back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Althoff Catholic Crusaders were outmatched by the Triad Knights and fell 59-32. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while the Knights are ranked 56th).

Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kamora Davis, who posted 12 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Dalke, who scored seven points.

Althoff Catholic has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Triad, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-5.

Althoff Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-35 defeat against Mt. Vernon on the 30th. Triad has also already played their next game, a 54-31 loss against Civic Memorial on the 31st.
