Basketball Game Preview: Foster Falcons vs. Alief Elsik Rams

The Foster Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Alief Elsik Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Foster has three straight wins, Alief Elsik has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, in a tight contest that could have gone either way, Foster made off with a 47-46 victory over George Ranch.

Meanwhile, Alief Elsik fought the good fight in their overtime game against Alief Hastings on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 49-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bears. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 434th, while the Bears are ranked 209th).

Foster pushed their record up to 8-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Alief Elsik, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.

Foster came up short against Alief Elsik when the teams last played back in November of 2023, falling 49-45. Thankfully for Foster, Trinity Carmouche (who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
