Football Recap: Carrollton Takes a Loss

Carrollton extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-6. They were dealt a 48-7 loss at the hands of West Branch. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Carrollton of the 33-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for West Branch, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Leading West Branch to victory were Grady Hirst and Jeremiah Thomas. Hirst rushed for 100 yards and one TD on only six carries, while Thomas gained 121 total yards and three touchdowns. What's more, Thomas posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in August.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Carrollton will venture away from home to challenge Minerva at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Branch, they will head out to take on Salem at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Quakers have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven games.
