Basketball Game Preview: Polytechnic Parrots vs. Wyatt Chaparrals

Polytechnic hasn't had much luck against Wyatt recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Parrots will take on the Chaparrals at 7:30 p.m. Polytechnic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Wyatt likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, 2026 welcomed Polytechnic with a 78-57 loss courtesy of Arlington Heights.

Meanwhile, Wyatt was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 63-57 to Paschal. The loss continues a trend for the Chaparrals in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.

Wyatt's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Polytechnic, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Polytechnic came up short against Wyatt in their previous matchup back in January of 2025, falling 54-46. Can the Parrots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
