Football Game Preview: Edison Eagles vs. South Brunswick Vikings + Official Tickets

Edison and South Brunswick are an even 4-4 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Edison has given up an average of 30.6 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Edison is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Friday. They were dealt a 41-6 loss at the hands of St. Thomas Aquinas. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 175th, while the Trojans are ranked 50th).

Meanwhile, while it was South Brunswick who put the first points on the board on Friday, it was Union who put up more. The Vikings fell 22-13 to the Farmers. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Farmers: they've now lost three in a row.

Edison's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for South Brunswick, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Edison took their victory against South Brunswick in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 39-14 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
