Preview: James F. Byrnes Rebels vs. Greer Yellow Jackets
The James F. Byrnes Rebels will head out on the road to face off against the Greer Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. James F. Byrnes has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 242 points over their last four games.
Last Tuesday, James F. Byrnes faced Riverside in a battle between two of the state's top teams. James F. Byrnes came out on top against Riverside by a score of 64-53.
Meanwhile, Greer took their match on the road on Monday with ease, bagging a 65-26 win over Berea. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-8.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Greer to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amiyah Clark-Lamelle, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. The game was Clark-Lamelle's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Samora Moody, who scored 20 points along with three steals.
James F. Byrnes has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Greer, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
James F. Byrnes didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Greer in their previous meeting last Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 56-50 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for James F. Byrnes since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
