Baseball Recap: Ford Comes Up Short

Ford extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-5 in the process. They came up short against the Osborn Knights, falling 22-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 8-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2021.

As for Osborn, the win keeps they at an undefeated 11-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average this season.

For Osborn's part, J Williams was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. Williams has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, A Woods was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. He has been hot, having also posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was J Mabin, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Osborn beat Ford by a score of 8-0 later that day.
