League recap: Montebello's Monroy delivers best pitching performance from past week

Almont league recap: 5/14/12

Tonatio Monroy was the best pitcher in Almont this week. He accumulated two wins and 12 strikeouts.

Montebello (15-9, 13-2) is riding a league-best 8-game winning streak. The streak was extended by another three games over the past week, including an 11-0 win over Keppel.

San Gabriel's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing six hits and four walks to lead the league in both categories. On the season, the Matadors have allowed just 121 hits, while striking out 103 batters. Eddie Escandon leads the Matadors with 46 strikeouts in 53 innings.

Alhambra, the season leader in runs scored at 150, added to its total with a league-high 33 runs this week. Juan Crespo leads the team with 27 runs scored and Juan Crespo has a team-high 24 RBIs on the year.



Alhambra's Andrew Arroyo finished his week with six hits, tops in the league. On the season, he's hitting .389 and ranks twesecond in the league with 21 hits.
