Volleyball Recap: Perham Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Addison Hackel and Sophie Nelson

The Perham Yellowjackets came up short against the Moorhead Spuds on Saturday and fell 3-1. While the Yellowjackets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Spuds 25-11 in the first set.

Perham started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 11-25, 26-24, 25-17, 25-21.

Sophie Nelson and Addison Hackel certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Nelson had 15 digs and one assist, while Hackel had 14 kills, eight digs, four aces, and one block. Hackel is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least nine every time she's taken the court this season.

Perham now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Moorhead, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Perham wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton on the 9th. As for Moorhead, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Bemidji on the 11th.
