Softball Game Preview: Cory-Rawson Fighting Hornets vs. Cardinal Stritch Cardinals

The Cory-Rawson Fighting Hornets will square off against the Cardinal Stritch Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses apiece.

Cory-Rawson fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Spencerville on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bearcats by a score of 6-5.

Addyson Duffman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan McVetta, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Cardinal Stritch lost 13-1 to Emmanuel Christian on Friday.

Cardinal Stritch's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Cory-Rawson, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.

Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cory-Rawson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. However, it's not like Cardinal Stritch struggles in that department as they've averaged .366. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
