Basketball Recap: Sacred Heart Comes Up Short

If Sacred Heart was riding high fresh off their 71-34 takedown of Clearbrook-Gonvick last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sacred Heart Eagles received a blow on Thursday as they fell 92-77 to the Ada-Borup Cougars. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (71), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ada-Borup to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anders Tinjum, who went 8-for-9 on his way to 21 points in addition to seven assists and five rebounds. Those seven assists gave Tinjum a new career-high. Mason Larson was another key player, going 9-for-11 en route to 23 points and six boards.

Sacred Heart's defeat dropped their record down to 18-13. As for Ada-Borup, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Sacred Heart has already played their next game (against Grygla-Gatzke), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Ada-Borup, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-52 victory against Hillsboro/Central Valley on the 14th.
