Recap: South Broward Bulldogs vs. Miramar Patriots

It was a good run, but The South Broward Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were beaten by Miramar 53-18. Despite 167 more yards than Miramar, South Broward couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

When it comes to explaining why South Broward lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chris Wheatley-humphrey. Despite the final result, he rushed for 260 yards and a touchdown while picking up 13.0 yards per carry. Wheatley-humphrey hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for nine straight games. Jayden Johnson was another key contributor, rushing for 115 yards on only 15 carries.

Miramar had a senior duo take command as Jordan Jones rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown and Kael Alexander threw for 170 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes.

South Broward's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Miramar, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Broward will take on Belen Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Miramar, they will be playing in front of their home fans against American at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
