Softball Game Preview: Putnam Clippers vs. Killingly Trailblazers

Putnam hasn't had much luck against Killingly recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Clippers are taking a road trip to challenge the Trailblazers at 4:15 p.m. Putnam has given up an average of 10.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Putnam came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Lyman Memorial, falling 20-8.

Putnam saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Paquette, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Paquette has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Laci Sinni was another, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Waterford hit Killingly with a ten-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trailblazers lost 13-1 to the Lancers.

Killingly's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Putnam, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Putnam might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from Killingly in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Clippers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
