Volleyball Recap: Nemaha Central Triumphs

Nemaha Central posted their closest win since September 9th on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Minneapolis Lions 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Thunder also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Nemaha Central had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 28-26, 25-19.

Nola Sudbeck paced Nemaha Central's offense, picking up 12 kills. Sudbeck got some help from Kennedy Carlson and her 15 assists. Sudbeck was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Nemaha Central's win bumped their record up to 15-13. As for Minneapolis, they dropped their record down to 11-11 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.

Coincidentally, Nemaha Central and Minneapolis will both be playing Smith Center the next time they take the court. The Lions will head out to face the Redmen at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Thunder will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
