Basketball Recap: Brown City Sets Scoring Season-High Against Genesee

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brown City). They walked away with a 68-57 victory over the Genesee Wolves on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Green Devils considering their 18-point performance the contest before.

Despite the loss, Genesee still got an impressive performance from Averie Zinn, who posted 39 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. The match was Zinn's 37th in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Autumn Simpson, who put up four points along with seven boards and three steals.

Brown City pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points over those games. As for Genesee, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-7.

Looking ahead, Brown City is taking a road trip to face off against Unionville-Sebewaing at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Genesee, they will be playing at home against Caro at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
