Softball Recap: York Dukes vs. Glenbard North Panthers

York scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Glenbard North Panthers as the York Dukes made off with a 9-2 win. The victory was just what York needed coming off of a 6-0 defeat in their prior game.

Avery Kanouse made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). Kanouse was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Lilly Burda was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with a home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Sara Steinecker, who went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI.

On Glenbard North's side, Gia Whelan was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

York has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Glenbard North, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.
