Basketball Game Preview: Platteview Trojans vs. Wahoo Warriors

Platteview hasn't had much luck against Wahoo recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Platteview Trojans will host the Wahoo Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Platteview got the win against Ashland-Greenwood by a conclusive 53-30. With the Trojans ahead 33-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Platteview found their leader in freshman Kady Vanosdall, who went 7 for 10 on her way to 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vanosdall has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadley Fahrenbruch, who posted four points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Meanwhile, Wahoo didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Nebraska City on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 24-18 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Platteview better keep an eye on Gretchen Seagren. She was instrumental in Wahoo's win, going 5 of 12 on her way to 13 points and three blocks. Seagren has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last seven times she's played.

Platteview has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Wahoo, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
