Softball Preview: DeSoto County Bulldogs vs. Family Christian Academy Mustangs

After three games on the road, DeSoto County is heading back home. They will take on the Family Christian Academy Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. DeSoto County is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.

Last Tuesday, DeSoto County earned a 7-2 win over Oasis. The victory was just what DeSoto County needed coming off of a 12-1 defeat in their prior contest.

Caleigh JO Duke made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Duke was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Daysha Izaquirre, who went 3-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. Anna Harvey was another key contributor, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and a stolen base.

Meanwhile, sadly, Family Christian Academy is still looking for their first win of the season after six matches. They suffered a tough 22-9 loss at the hands of Booker on Monday.
