Baseball Recap: Highland Comes Up Short

Highland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 28-5 to the Grants Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on April 8th.

Eric Tennison was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one double. That home run was his first of the season.

Highland's record is now 3-15-1. As for Grants, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Highland will venture away from home to challenge Bosque at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Grants, they will host Moriarty at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pintos have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
