Softball Recap: Riverside-Durham Wins Going Away Against Carrboro

Riverside-Durham won the last time they faced Carrboro and things went their way on Monday too. Riverside-Durham blew past Carrboro 15-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

Grace Arrington made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time she hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Lila Goldstein was incredible, scoring four runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Paris Chavis also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Riverside-Durham now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Carrboro, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2.

Coming up, Riverside-Durham will take on Hillside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hillside will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Riverside-Durham surely won't give up without a fight. As for Carrboro, they will face off against Vance County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
