After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Marathon, Mater Bay Academy was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Sports Leadership & Management 11-10. The Rays' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Alexis Mesa was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Kellan Portell was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Mater Bay Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-11. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Mater Bay Academy will face off against Palmer Trinity at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rays' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
