Soccer Game Preview: Taft vs. Chavez

Taft is 0-9-1 against Chavez since January of 2020 but things could change on Wednesday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Titans at 6:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

It was a proper cat-fight when Taft duked it out with McFarland on Monday. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Cougars. While losing is never fun, Taft can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 697th, while McFarland are ranked 158th).

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Chavez's offense. They lost 3-0 to Wasco on Monday. Chavez have struggled against Wasco recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Chavez's loss dropped their record down to 1-10-3. As for Taft, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-5-5.
