Basketball Game Preview: Assumption Mustangs vs. E.D. White Cardinals

The Assumption Mustangs are taking a road trip to challenge the E.D. White Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Assumption took their game with ease, bagging a 49-21 win over Morgan City. The contest marked the Mustangs' most dominant victory of the season.

Meanwhile, E.D. White hadn't done well against South Lafourche recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. E.D. White walked away with a 41-33 win over South Lafourche. The victory was familiar territory for the Cardinals who have now won three matchups in a row.

E.D. White's win bumped their record up to 19-4. As for Assumption, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-14.

Assumption beat E.D. White 61-53 in their previous matchup back in December of 2020. The rematch might be a little tougher for Assumption since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
