Softball Preview: Northeastern Bobcats vs. Central York Panthers        
        
		
            A feisty cat fight will be fought as Northeastern Bobcats  face off against  Central York Panthers at 4:15  p.m.  on Monday. The  squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Northeastern has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Central York will arrive with four straight  victories.
Northeastern came up short against  Lower Dauphin last Friday, falling  14-3.
  Madison Redding was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 1-for-3 with one  home run.  Cami Dennis was another key player,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-1.
Meanwhile, Central York got the win against Penn Manor  on Friday by a conclusive  9-1. Considering the Panthers have won four contests by more than six  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Elizabeth Ferrell made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run over seven innings pitched. Ferrell was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-4 with one  triple, two  RBI,  and one  run.
 In other batting news,  Brooklyn Shaffer was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with two  triples, three  runs,  and one  double. Those  two  triples gave  her a new career-high.  Bailey Daughenbaugh also deserves some recognition as  she  snagged her first  stolen base of the season.
 Central York was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .406. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .308 or higher in five consecutive  matches.
 Northeastern's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Central York, their record now sits at 5-2.
 Northeastern couldn't quite get it done against Central York in their previous meeting  back in April of 2024 as they fell  9-5. Can Northeastern avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
