Football Game Preview: Atholton Raiders vs. Guilford Park Panther

Atholton is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Friday. They will head out to take on the Guilford Park Panther at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Atholton put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 47-3 win over Mt. Hebron. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Tyler Bell had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 258 yards and five TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also rushing for 35 yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (163.2). A healthy portion of Bell's aerial production (106 yards to be exact) went to Evan Morton, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Meanwhile, Guilford Park didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Reservoir on Friday, but they still walked away with a 42-37 win.

Atholton better keep an eye on Tyler Lee. He was instrumental in Guilford Park's win, rushing for 235 yards and three scores while picking up 11.2 yards per carry, and also catching one TD. Lee is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 203 every time he's taken the field this season. Another signal caller making a difference was A'Yar Reed-Wright, who threw for 118 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Atholton's record is now 3-1. As for Guilford Park, their record now sits at 4-0.
