Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Washington Latin Public Charter School). They breezed by the BASIS Red Giants to the tune of 67-38 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Lions have posted since January 25, 2024.

Connor Smith was his usual excellent self, putting up 30 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jude Nixon, who posted 12 points.

When it comes to explaining why BASIS lost, don't look at Timothy Chamberlain II. Despite the final result, he put up 21 points. That was a full 55.3% of BASIS's points, marking the 12th time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Samuel Tucker, who earned nine points.

Washington Latin Public Charter School's win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-12. As for BASIS, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 3-12.

Washington Latin Public Charter School wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 55-25 defeat against DC International on the 30th. As for BASIS, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-33 loss against E.L. Haynes on the 30th.
