Softball Recap: West Potomac Comes Up Short

West Potomac extended their losing streak to five on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 5-12 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Robinson Rams. The game snapped a strange streak: the last seven times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

West Potomac got a big performance out of Sabrina Driggers, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Driggers has launched this season. Ashley McGuckin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

As for Robinson, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9. They haven't had any issues with West Potomac recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

On Robinson's side, the team relied heavily on Marina Palazzo, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Looking ahead, West Potomac will be playing in front of their home fans against Alexandria City at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wolverines' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. Robinson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
