The Rural Vista [Hope/White City] Heat fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Northern Heights Wildcats on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Wildcats 50-45. Rural Vista [Hope/White City] was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Northern Heights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Several Heat players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shaylee Sanford, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sanford has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Journey Peterson, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Rural Vista [Hope/White City] has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Northern Heights, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8.
Rural Vista [Hope/White City] will take on Peabody-Burns at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Peabody-Burns is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Northern Heights, they will head out on the road to face off against Herington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Herington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Monday.
