Football Game Preview: Cameron County Raiders vs. Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley

Cameron County is 1-6 against Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley since October of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Raiders will venture away from home to challenge Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley at 7:00 p.m. Cameron County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 28 points per game this season.

On Friday, Cameron County ended up a good deal behind Smethport and lost 28-12.

Although Cameron County took the loss, they still got scores from Malakai Zucal and Sylus Pearson.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They walked away with a 22-14 victory over Reynolds on Thursday.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Max Gallagher and Logan Skibinski. Gallagher gained 82 total yards and two touchdowns while Skibinski gained 111 total yards and a touchdown.

Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.6 points. As for Cameron County, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 6-4.

Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Kamden Fragale and Gallagher. Fragale just won't slow down this season and has averaged 81.2 rushing yards per game. Gallagher has been a dominant force too and has run in 17 touchdowns while averaging 108.1 rushing yards per game.

Cameron County suffered a grim 36-12 defeat to Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
