Softball Game Preview: Naples Big Green Machines vs. Honeoye Bulldogs

Naples is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will be playing at home against the Honeoye Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Naples will be strutting in after a victory while Honeoye will be coming in after a loss.

Naples took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against Hammondsport as they made off with a 14-3 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Big Green Machines considering their one-run performance the game before.

Emily Lester spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up 14 Ks.

At the plate, Erica Reigelsperger was a standout: she scored five runs while going 4-for-4. Natalie Brahm was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Tuesday. Honeoye came up short against Livonia, falling 17-5.

Naples beat Honeoye 11-7 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Big Green Machines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
