Basketball Game Preview: Grandview Wolves vs. Castle View Sabercats + How To Watch

The Grandview Wolves will take on the Castle View Sabercats in a tournament on Thursday. Grandview is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season.

Grandview is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Chaparral just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 64-50 bruising from the Wolverines. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Wolverines are ranked second).

Despite the loss, Grandview saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ismael Kabongo shot 71% from the field en route to 13 points along with five assists and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for Kabongo. Charlie Atkinson was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Meanwhile, Castle View had to suffer through a 67-40 loss at the hands of Cherry Creek. The Sabercats haven't had much luck with the Bruins recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Grandview will need to focus on slowing down Bubba Wyatt, one of several Castle View players who made an impact when they last played. He posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Javier Hernandez, who put up ten points.

Castle View's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Grandview, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Grandview has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 22.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Castle View struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.

Grandview strolled past Castle View in their previous meeting back in February by a score of 70-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
