Basketball Recap: Portola's Run of Six Straight Victories Now Over

It was a good run, but Portola unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to the Quincy Trojans 61-55. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 77-47.

Despite the defeat, Portola had strong showings from Magnus Berg, who posted 25 points and eight rebounds, and Connor Sheridan, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 boards. Sheridan has been hot for a while, having posted 17 or more points the last 14 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Enrique Vargas, who scored three points and 11 boards.

Portola's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 15-7. As for Quincy, their record now sits at 12-10.

Portola has already played their next contest (against Sierra Lutheran), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Quincy will challenge Maxwell at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
