Geraldine made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Fyffe, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Geraldine Bulldogs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Fyffe Red Devils a 6-0 shutout on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Kennedy Cook made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Alice Jordan and Sophie Bearden did most of the damage at the plate: Jordan went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while Bearden got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI. That triple marked the first that Jordan hit this season. Another player making a difference was Callie Bearden, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Geraldine now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Fyffe, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Geraldine will face off against Sylvania at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fyffe, they will square off against Collinsville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Collinsville will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Fyffe surely won't give up without a fight.
